a little of what we've been up to

Nana did a little mini photo shoot while we were up there on Sunday for Jason to preach at their church. The boys loved having their pictures taken with cousin Solomon!

*Adoption update: Not much. We are unofficially #2 on the single child list. With only about 3 referrals going out a month, we are hoping and praying we are in the next batch of 3 to go out. We will hit 20 months on the wait list on Thursday. We appreciate your prayers. We are emotionally exhausted with this process.

weekend with kaki

the boys spent the weekend with kaki at camp of the hills last weekend.
they had a blast (as always), and didn't want to come home (also as always :-).

focusing on Him {valentine's day}

So I'm trying to center the focus of every worldly holiday on God.

I found this mailbox idea on another blog and thought I'd give it a shot for Valentine's Day. Each of us have our own mailbox with our initial (the mailboxes were $1 at Target and the initials I just cut out of construction paper).

Over the next couple of weeks, we take turns writing notes to each other telling each other what we love about them and put it in their mailbox. I also found some little treats we can put in each other's mailboxes. Then I decided to put a different scripture about love on the chalkboard every few days. It was really easy and I think, sweet.

The only thing I couldn't find were wooden candlestick holders to glue the mailboxes too, so I just found some things in my home to set them on top of. Maybe next year I'll glue them to their own candlestick holder.

Just something fun for our family and it opens up talking about God's love for us and how we ought to love others as much as we love ourselves.

I chose the interstate sign because we've been on this road for a LONG time! This seemed appropriate to me. We are ready to exit off the freeway!!!! :-) Things never turn out as you planned, and we NEVER planned to wait 19 months for our referral. But this wait is going to make it that much sweeter when it happens, right?!?! We can't wait to share the news with you.

Also, Happy Birthday to the best Aunt Laur-Laur our boys could ask for! We love you!
