1 month

1 month old
I can't believe Judah was one month old yesterday - wow! I think time flies faster with the second one. I took him to the hematologist and he's already over 10 lbs now - what a chunk! He and Elijah both go for their 1 month and 4 yr check-ups tomorrow - fun!
Here's proof that I must be taking too many pictures :-) They are playing on Judah's activity mat.

Here are some sweet pictures of little Judah sleeping

And a VERY rare one of Elijah asleep in the car - he never does this! We were on our way home yesterday from Jason's parent's house - he had been swimming all weekend, so I guess he was zonked! That was his first swim of the summer. He starts swim lessons next week - he's really excited about it and did a great job going under the water this weekend.

That's all...not much going on right now except for still getting used to the busy-ness of two kiddos!

The Big #4

Elijah turned the big 4 this past Tuesday, May 13th. I'm not really in the mood to be sentimental right now, since I'm already more emotional than usual after having a baby, so I'm just going to post pictures of the week's events for now. First, here are a few recent ones of Judah because I know you're wanting more! :-) He's a big boy and weighed in at 9 lbs 7 oz this week at the doctor.

Last Monday, we took cupcakes to Elijah's preschool to celebrate with his friends.

Jason was off all week, so we had a great day on his actual birthday. We got him a big boy bicycle and helmet, which he loved!

Then we took him to his favorite jumping place that morning.

Then we went to Grapevine Mills Mall to eat at Rainforest Cafe where the waiters sang to him and gave him a free sundae, and then he rode the carousel.

Weds night, Daddy took him and his cousins Jonathan & Andrew to the Ranger's game.

Yesterday was the actual party - Superman theme - at Forest Park. The kids rode the train, we had a picnic lunch, cake, presents and flew kites. They had a great time! These pictures are all out of order, but oh well...

By request...

More pictures!!!!! Sorry for the delay - I've found it harder to find time to blog with two kids! :-) The first 3 pictures are from Elijah's preschool program he had last week. They wore frog hats and sang "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog" at the end - it was adorable! I wish I could figure out a way to get video off my video camera on here. After that are some more of Judah - he is getting bigger and bigger every day and already smiling at us a little bit. Tomorrow is Elijah's 4th birthday, so later in the week I'll post a sappy birthday post with pictures of the week's events and party this Saturday. Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Mother's Day

I was feeling overwhelmed this morning and then read this forward from a friend entitled "A Newborn's Conversation with God". It was so sweet and made me feel better, so I thought I'd post it and say Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there!

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'

'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'

God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

A week of pictures

One week old
I'm going to try to do a picture with the sock monkey each month

Going home

Our first week at home

Hope that's enough pictures to last everyone for a while. We are doing well, just adjusting to two kids which is a little overwhelming sometimes but we feel completely blessed. Please keep us in your prayers as we learn how to manage two and get some sort of a routine & normalcy going around here. :-)

Judah had already passed his birth weight when we went to the pediatrician for the first time two days after we got home. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz - the doctor was so impressed and said he was doing so well that we didn't need to bring him back until he's 1 month old! Unfortunately, his umbilical cord fell off a little too soon at 6 days old and we had to go back because it was getting infected. All is okay now and it should be fine. We also unfortunately found out that he also has the same blood-clotting disorder that Elijah has. While I know that what happened with Elijah was a freak thing, I was still a little sad that Judah has it too, but I just had to know for my own sanity after what happened to Elijah. I keep telling myself that everything is just fine, and I know it will be. We'll take him to the hematologist just for a check-up on his blood and then there should be no need to go back unless he has a problem. It's at least good to know so that I can be aware and a little more cautious about certain things.

That's all I've got right now. Have a great day!
