has it really been a year!?!?

One year ago today, on November 29, 2012 we received the call we had literally been waiting YEARS for. Has it really been a year since we first saw this sweet little face?!?!? Unbelievable. What a wonderful, crazy, surreal, joyful day that was!!! One we will never ever forget. What a blessing our Evangeline Meaza has been to our family! Read the details of our referral HERE and HERE, and go to the "adoption" tab to see the videos of our journey to Evie.

18 months

Evie turned 18 months old on the 7th and we celebrated her being home for 6 months. She has gained 5 lbs and 6 inches since she came home!!! It's hard to believe that we are coming up on the 1 year anniversary of our referral call. In some ways, it still feels like yesterday. Happy 18 months baby girl!!!

Elijah also had a fall program last week. It was really cute - the kids did a great job!

Judah had a Thanksgiving feast. This is him with his girlfriend, Liza. He loves her and talks about her all the time! It is precious. He is really enjoying kindergarten.

evie's playdates

We are so thankful for some sweet new Ethiopian friends close to Evie's age to have playdates with. She had so much fun with sweet Addis and Saryn. Can't wait to get them all together again soon! What a blessing.

halloween 2013

We had a wonderful Halloween season. It was Evie's first - so fun to experience that with her! She loved looking at all of the costumes. I wrote on facebook this morning that just last Halloween we were utterly depressed waiting for her and now....what a difference a year makes! I got crafty and made the yummy pumpkin marshmallows above - the boys loved them!

Last weekend we enjoyed our neighborhood Halloween party in the park.

With cousins, Kris and Jonathan and witch Kaki. Judah won Scariest Costume for his age group.

Halloween night we went trick or treating in the Stockyards and our neighborhood.

First time trick or treating!

Also wanted to document Elijah's last football game. He "sacked" the quarterback twice and caught a pass in the end zone for two points. So proud of him!
