Amos & End of Summer Fun + No Training Wheels

Meet Amos.

He's between 1-2 years old, boxer/bull terrier/rhodesian ridgeback mix (aka MUTT :-), out of the puppy stage, very calm, very sweet, loves our boys, already crate & potty trained, not much of a barker or jumper, full grown at about 40 lbs and is a beautiful red color.

Elijah adores him. He's been a great addition to our family so far but Trigger is still missed. We got Amos last Saturday...he was at a Petco adoption event from the Haltom City Animal Shelter.

On Tuesday, my mom took me, the boys and cousin Jonathan to Six Flags for some end of the summer fun. It was HOT but we had a great time and it wasn't very crowded. First stop was the carousel:

Very serious about the carousel.

Then we ran into some characters...

Elijah and Jonathan were big enough to ride a lot of things by themselves, like the Mexican hat:

and the Mini Mine Train:

Judah wished he was big enough to ride :-(

The boys loved the big train that went all the way around the park.

Hot, sweaty boys.

The Batmobile...mommy got to ride the Batman ride by myself since there were no lines.

The Looney tunes rides - Judah was so happy to find some things for him to ride too.

Of course we did the log ride and splash water falls to cool off, and I was so proud of Elijah because he rode the Shockwave with me!!! I think Jonathan had a lot to do with that since he wasn't scared but still, Elijah did great even though he was literally in shock the whole time...afterwards, I think he really enjoyed it. We had a great time...thanks mom!

Thursday, I didn't get any pictures, but we met our friends the Ellises at NRH2O waterpark for the afternoon and then went to eat barbecue with them for dinner. They were so kind to invite us to use their free guest passes and our whole family was able to go. Thanks so much guys, we had a great time and Elijah enjoyed playing with Foy. Even Judah got to go down one of the big slides in a double tube with me. Too bad we were too wet for pictures.

Yesterday we met Ellie, Deacon and Brynlee for our last summer playdate before Elijah starts 1st grade and Ellie starts kindergarten. Their a/c had gone out so they had stayed the night at a hotel the night before. We joined them at the hotel to swim and then they went home to their fixed a/c...yay!!! Can't believe those two are both old enough to be in elementary!

Yesterday afternoon, Jason taught Elijah to ride his bike without training wheels. Elijah finally showed interest in learning and it literally only took him about 30 minutes to get the hang of it. We are so proud of him...here is a short video.
