Independence Day

*My 30th birthday post below this*
We had a wonderful 4th of July. Jason's parents drove down to meet us for dinner at Boston's after Jason took me to see Eclipse. Isn't he a wonderful husband? :-) My mom also met us there with the boys. She is staying with us a few days while on her off week from camp.

Here we are outside the restaurant with their patriotic shirts...

Judah was trying to pick the flowers but it makes for a cute picture!

My cute, cute boys! If Elijah crosses his arms for a picture...

then Judah is going to do the same! :-)

We then went down on the Trinity River to watch the fireworks. The boys tried to wait patiently in their chairs.

but resorted to running up and down a grassy hill instead...

Then we got some ice cream from the ice cream man- yum!

And shortly after, the fireworks started! I wish I had on video Judah's reaction to the whole thing. He was like a kid in a candy store....he did not even know the word "fireworks" before last night but he kept saying it over and over and over and over.

Before the big show even started, there were small fireworks going off all around...he basically did a 360 for about an hour trying to see every single one and yelling, "Fireworks! Awesome! Over there! Yay!" and just squealing with excitement. It was precious. Happy 4th of July!

It sounds like a great 4th. We didn't get to see the fireworks this year and it was a little bit of a disappointment. But I do look forward to seeing Minerva's reaction when we do get to see them!
