May 1st Bible Verse

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."

I need some comfort right now. I lost a friend this week to a tragic car accident. Sweet Dawna Casey was 33 years old and worked at YCW preschool with me, and was also one of Judah's sweet teachers there. She was on her way to our work last Thursday morning with her two small children in the car with her. When she didn't show up for work everyone was worried, and it was shortly after that we found out she had been killed. Thankfully her children were unharmed. Her funeral was yesterday and was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person.

This is the closest I have been affected by such a tragedy...she was so young and now her babies don't have a mama. It makes me long for heaven even more...there are no tears, no death and no sorrow there. Dawna is home...the place we are all trying to get...sitting at Jesus' feet and at perfect peace. Her husband's faith has been amazing. There are no answers to a situation like this...asking Why does not get us anywhere. We can question because God can take it, but still need to understand that God's perfect plan is so far beyond anything we can imagine and that he loves Dawna and her family more than anyone can. Dawna, thank you for the sweet and loving person that you were...you touched so many lives, and I pray that your death will inspire us to live each day to the fullest for Christ!

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Even when we know that someone has gone on to be with God, it's hard to work through the loss that we feel here.
